The Church of the All-Father has many servants, and just as the All-Father himself is a warrior as well as a creator, so the Church must defend its flocks as well as provide for them. A vast army stands ready to defend the Holy Church, the army of the Crusaders, holy warriors who know no fear. When the hordes of Chaos shook the World at the beginning of the War of the Scourge, Saint Adelmo the Patriarch called a mighty crusade against the unnatural invaders, and placed the All-Father's blessing upon any who would take up arms in the Church's defense. From that day to this, they have worn white for purity and blue for the All-Father's strength, as vast as the endless sky.

Overview

The Crusader is part of the vanguard for the Church of the All-Father. His piety propels him toward the front lines to smite his foes. His powers give him the ability to bring holy wrath upon his foes, bolster his defenses to unfathomable heights, or even to martyr himself for his brothers in faith. The Crusader is vigilance incarnate and brings relentless fury upon the unholy.

Playstyle Tips

The Crusader is capable of fulfill many roles in a group, though each requires specialization. Crusaders are capable of respectable melee damage and spell damage depending on which base class you choose. They can also be a very good support class with Sacrifice being the linchpin in their arsenal.

Fighter

  • You will be extremely vulnerable to crowd control effects. A good trick is to put at least one point into Censure so you can target yourself when you are rooted to break the root.
  • Between All-Father's Shield and Blessing of the Healing Hand, you can take excessive amounts of punishment; however, don't let that lull you into dangerous situations. The Crusader is a class that punishes you HEAVILY for being out of position.
  • Shield Bash is your form of crowd control from your class powers so your choice of weapon is especially important.

Healer

  • Censure's damage is respectable; however, you are mostly outclassed by your Prelate counterpart so it is best to not build your character solely around this spell.
  • Sacrifice is the only healing effect that bypasses Shadowmantle. For this reason, you are invaluable in a team fight.
  • Your damage chant is one of the highest in the game so you can compliment melee characters very well; however, this shouldn't dissuade you from participating in the battle in other ways. Healers are most commonly a Sacrifice-based build; however, your best damage, even as a Healer, is dealt in melee range.
