Confessors are the priests of the Cleansing Flame, charged with winnowing the righteous from the wicked, and exposing evil and sin wherever they may lie. Motivated by the Twelve Articles of Faith, they have continued the High King's crusade against the Elves, and have added many other races to the ranks of the sinful. They pray to the All-Father daily, and their powers arise from lengthy invocations of the Archons and the Blessed Saints. Saint Malorn the Just, Kindler and Keeper of the Flame, is their greatest patron, and through him Confessors can work mighty miracles of fire, smiting the unrighteous and unholy, or keeping shadow at bay. Miracles of healing and protection are also theirs to command, but such blessings are reserved for the pure and faithful. The agents of the All-Father's final justice, Confessors can also lay mighty curses and maledictions upon the wicked in punishment for their sins. Confessors put the spiritual well-being of their flocks far above their physical well-being, testing and rewarding the faithful rather than feeding or clothing the poor.
The Confessor purges the sins of the wicked masses through the his affinity with the Cleansing Flame. He is capable of rendering the most intimidating of foes frail and contrite through his zeal to Saint Malorn. His spells are capable of making a sword arm heavy with guilt, stop one in their tracks, or sentence the condemned to all sorts of essence-draining and sin-smoldering tribulations. The Confessor is a staunch defender of the pious though. His spells can shield his allies from relentless onslaught or reinvigorate them. The Confessor is even selfless enough to sacrifice his own life for the greater cause.
A Confessor has a very unique playstyle. The combination of support and sustain can be a potent tool, when wielded properly.
Mage
Although it's best to build this toon entirely offensive, that doesn't mean you should ignore your defensive options. A correctly timed dance into defensive stance or activation of Flesh of Granite can save you from deadly encounter.
It's tempting with Mage classes that have class invisibility powers to eschew pre-stunning. Although there are situations where this is sometimes the correct decision, on the whole it is better to stay stun immune given your innate survivability.
Although you deal multiple damage types, elemental resistance debuffs do not stack with each other so keep in mind the last Bolt spell you just cast to know what damage type to which your enemy is vulnerable.
Healer
Blessed Restoration and Blessed Mending can be a godsend in lots of situations but they do not substitute for good positioning. You are there to rain hell on your opponents and constantly healing yourself from poor positioning cuts into your damage output.
Due to Healer Confessor's high defensive stance, a very popular way to play them is as a high defense caster. This does, however, cut heavily into your damage output so a high defense Confessor is not alwaya the right character to bring to a fight.
Your shield can have an enchantment that increases your chance to block an attack or an enchantment that increases your resistances to a certain damage type. Learning about what types of characters your enemies favor can give you the edge by sculpting your gear to counter them.
