Effect removal powers can remove one or more effects from a player. An effect in Shadowbane is defined as any result of another action that will have a timed influence on combat ability or attribute adjustment. Effects are represented by a small icon in what is called the effects window (by default, the top-left hand side of screen).

Removal Priority

Effects on the left side are removed first
Effect removal spells will remove the first qualifying effect beginning on the left side of the effects window. Casting an effect removal spell will remove the first eligible effect from the target's effects bar starting from the left.

List of Effect Removal Powers

Standards of Removal

  • Death will remove all effects.
  • Any stun above level five will dispel any cast (unnatural) flight.
  • Any root or snare will dispel any cast (unnatural) flight.
  • Any grand mastered heals will remove any bleeding effect.
  • A Scroll of Divine Cure will dispel poison or disease effects.

Class Effect Removal

  • An Assassin's Chilling Shadows will remove a player's attack speed buff.
  • A Bard's Countersong will remove any effects, one at a time.
  • A Bard's Mighty Countersong will remove a debuff from all the players in his group.
  • A Channeler's Divert the Aerial Flow will remove any lightning effect.
  • A Channeler's Divert the Aqueous Flow will remove any cold effect.
  • A Channeler's Divert the Pyretic Flow will remove any fire effect.
  • A Crusader's Saint Alaric's Aid will dispel poison or disease effects.
  • A Confessor's Defy the Witch will remove any effects, one at a time.
  • A Doomsayer's Sign of Gellegur will remove debuffs from the caster, one at a time.
  • A Doomsayer's The Green Death will remove another player's constitution buff.
  • A Druid's Braialla's Aid will dispel poison or disease effects.
  • A Fury's Restore Sight will dispel a blind effect from a player.
  • A Fury's Break Enchantment will dispel a target's buffs, one at a time.
  • A Fury's Remove Hex will remove any effects, one at a time.
  • A Necromancer's Draw Back the Shadows will remove any unholy effect.
  • A Necromancer's Gravechill will dispell all of a player's buffs.

  • A Templar's Sway the Balance will remove any effects, one at a time.
  • A Wizard's Sign of Disruption will dispel a target's buffs, one at a time.
  • A Wizard's Counterspell will remove any effects, one at a time.

Discipline Effect Removal

  • A Battle Magus's Skirmish Counterspell will dispel all "Elemental and Magic Effects".
  • A Blood Horn's Blood Roar will dispel flight and mana recovery buffs (< 21).
  • A Blood Horn's Blood Luck will dispel one debuff from the caster (< 21).
  • A Blood Prophet's Soothe the Flames will dispel any fire effect (< 21).
  • A Clanwarden's Grasp of Thurin will dispel flight.
  • A Commander's Rally Troops will dispel stuns from all group members at once.
  • A Giant Killer's Cut Down to Size removes a target's constitution buff.
  • A Huntsman's Skin the Beast removes discipline-based were-forms.
  • A Sanctifier's Sanctify the Fallen will remove the death shroud from a group member.
  • A Shroudborne's The Ebon Binding removes cold effects (< 21).
  • A Thrall's Thog-Maalra will dispel stuns from all group members at once (Elves only).
  • An Undead Hunter's Cure Death's Touch will remove disease effects.
