Strength or Str is defined as "the ability to exert force on physical objects using muscles". This definition has been translated into Shadowbane as a statistic that decides the maximum damage of a certain weapons, the amount of weight one can carry, and will make a character avatar physically larger.
Role in Character Development
Strength determines the maximum damage value for the following weapons:
- Axe
- Great Axe
- Throwing Axe
- Hammer
- Great Hammer
- Throwing Hammer
- Pole Arm
- Spear
- Most Swords
- Great Sword
While strength determines the maximum damage for these weapons, Dexterity determines the minimum damage.
Tips
Strength has bad returned value in most situations, meaning that a lot of strength does not necessarily mean superior or worthwhile additional damage. More people tend to focus on constitution, first (for more health and stamina), and then use leftover points for strength.
