Much <3 for helping out with the wiki. Keep up the good work. --Halethrain

Comments should be signed by adding 4 tildes (~) after them. :D I didn't know you were back playing Shadowbane. That strikes me as odd. RedAugust 02:02, 28 Jul 2007 (EDT)

I know, and I'm not back playing SB yet :P --RewenX 02:10, 28 Jul 2007 (EDT)
I don't play either, yet I run this. One day I'll have time to play again... --Halethrain

just some guy. --Halethrain 13:16, 29 Jul 2007 (EDT)
To prevent malicous logins, why don't you have peeps required to be verified via email or use the stupid images with letter people have to type? --Zod 1:22, 21 Nov 2007 (EDT)
I was thinking the same thing, but I do not have that much control over the wiki. Halethrain might. I don't know why someone would waste resources to program something to vandalize wiki pages with gibberish and broken links anyway. Rewen 14:11, 21 Nov 2007 (EST)

The problem is that my host is still using PHP4.x and any new version of mediawiki requires 5.x+. So I'm stuck using Mediawiki 1.4.7 and don't know of any way to add a "no robots" script to it. --Halethrain 00:12, 22 Nov 2007 (EST)

Fellow Editor?

Hi!

Thanks for the reply, it is nice to see that people are actually paying attention to what's going on here.

I can understand why you don't want to take the wiki in the direction I mentioned. It would have been nice to have a very basic (therefore simplified, biased, etc) picture of how each class is usually played. I mean, for a beginner, five choices are enough for the first time, and fifteen for the second, so the tird time they can start creating unique characters and try a few ideas of their own. But anyway, I see your point, let's forget about this. (Edit: I just found the class guides, these are not far from what I was missing)

As for the quick box, I think we could add more content to the main page if we added categories instead of pages. This way, a user would have to click twice to get to a specific class or discipline, but many more links could be added.

You're right, SB is my first MMORPG, and considering I'm not native English, there are definitely some terms I had to look up). I'm not saying we should add 'k' or 'brb', but even some simple terms, like DoT took me a bit to figure out, not mentioning what I hear when ppl start to trade...

I definitely think that the class articles deserve a link here! The first few official SB page I encountered was either obsolete, missing or very generic, so I stopped even going there. It's good to see that they do have content worth reading. Actually, I think we could add each and every link they have under class guides...

p.s. As I mentioned on my user page I often start playing a game and soon find that I have no time for 'more important' stuff, so don't count on me hanging around very long... :(

BLAH!

Think you could link me to some of the extensions you'd like to see added to the wiki? Once you do I'll start getting them up. --Halethrain 20:21, 20 February 2008 (EST)

Could you show me the list again? I tried looking but couldn't find the original :O Rewen 03:02, 21 February 2008 (EST)
it's on the main page discussion. I would link you buy i'm typing this from my pearl... -Halethrain
There's so many to choose from I have no idea lol. Is there one there which can let use set up more things like jargon? Like where you just put some simple code and it adds something at the bottom of the page regarding category. Rewen 10:34, 22 February 2008 (EST)
I have no idea what to add, which is why I asked you :p I'm willing to add any extensions that can be found useful. --Halethrain 23:11, 22 February 2008 (EST)
Okay I went through and found some!
  • ImageMap would open up a lot of possibility such as using world map as an image map linking to zones, to name one. That would be hot!
  • Flash and YouTube would allow us to setup tutorial or entertaining PVP videos.
  • Chat just seems like a neat thing to have.
  • Review is a great way to monitor quality, I know that not everyone who visits this site wants to edit or even know the correct information to change it themselves.

CHANGELOG

  • Aggressive stance: That's half the fun, seeing if you can empty your entire inventory before you die.
It's unrealistic and cowardly to delete gold when you know your gimp ass is going down. I've actually killed quite a few people who could have gotten away if they didn't stand there like dorks deleting their items and gold. And you call me a carebear? lulz
  • Weapon mastery runes: Dude, wtf. Are you trying to turn this into CareBearBane?
Mastery runes are flawed. No one wants to make a character that is depeandant on a mastery skill rune because there is no predictable drop. Also, I'd rather find useful runes when I farm, not a god damn master of great swords. These runes belong in character creation.
  • Stamina recovery is no longer negated by flight or swimming, additional recovery rates will slow the drain of stamina: it doesn't anyway, man you are a carebear.
You are hereby banished from using clique internet terms. I rather like them and am worried you are making them overfamiliar by overuse. BTW this change I suggest here is great and should be hotfixed into the game moments after I post this. Otherwise the game sucks.
  • The freehold Necromancer trainer has been moved from Oblivion to Aeldereth: Again, not needed.
The Necromancer trainer is in a non-safe zone for lore reasons only. Who's hair-brained idea was it to put the trainer in a non-safe zone? There's a difference betwee open PVP and blatant griefer bait.
  • Alchemists can now be ranked to R7: that's really not the point.
What is the point? A useless vendor? Or do you like wasting a sage slot for stam/hp/mana potions? Have you ever owned a city? =P
  • Aracoix vendors are now available in the world: I feel this goes against bird lore to HAve them as vendors, ever.
You're absolutly right. Any proud Aracoix Kh'ree wants to trust some fat, drunk, discusting dwarves to make their wares. I know I WOULD. -.-
  • Several additional damage-type debuff siege spires: don't think it's necessary tbh.
Necessary? No. Would it further the game and make pvp more interesting? Yes. There are pleanty of necessary changes.
  • Mage defensive stance now provides additional mana recovery: I don't see hwo that's a problem at R7?
It isn't a problem. Something doesn't have to be a problem to be changed. =D
  • Healer defensive stance now provides additional mana recovery: Yeah not really going for this extra mana recov. How about wear the correct gear and they will never have to worry.
The point of this is that there is currently no incentive for any healer to ever use defensive stance for any reason.
  • Slayer's Focus is now granted at GM: Again I can't see how this is needed. Even a VMA that's super tight on trains can afford to train this without losing too much.
If you are the kind of guy that GMs slayer's focus, I think I understand some of your other comments a bit better!
  • Assassins have been granted a skill called "Disguise" which will copy the guild crest of an individual for a short period of time: this would only be viable if other assys could see these 'disguised' assys. Kind of like scouts seeing all hidden characters. But DEFINITELY giving scouts this power is horrible. Their already too loved by the devs.
I agree
  • Wings of the Seraphim now costs less to train: This is templars big power and the big ace in the hole for them. This is like Assys Shadow mantle.
Thanks for the info? =D
  • Forge Master: WOOHOOO!!!!!!! Fantastic changes!
Hey, thanks!
  • Strigoi: …and track arrow can be broken just like a normal track arrow.
Didn't know this was broken, so thanks for that.
  • And here's my idea. If you are fighting someone and you die and a piece of armour breaks, instead of disappearing, would drop on your grave as a piece of unIDed piece of generic armour, or as (to be IDed) 'broken armour' left on the grave. People really don't take enough care of their armour. Like certain pieces of armour that vorg and other mobs drops when they die.
Rewards PVP and punishes carelessness. I love it.

Those are my comments ^^. Pinothyj 21:45, 13 April 2008 (EDT)…

I appriciate the feedback. =)

Block!

Hello When I wanted to change a incorrect information in the wiki I got this message: "Your user name or IP address has been blocked.

The block was made by RewenX. The reason given is Bot.

   * Start of block: 19:25, 17 November 2007
   * Expiry of block: 18:25, 3 April 2035
   * Intended blockee: Chrisuf

You can contact RewenX or another administrator to discuss the block. You cannot use the 'email this user' feature unless a valid email address is specified in your account preferences and you have not been blocked from using it. Your current IP address is 212.186.206.253, and the block ID is #190. Please include either or both of these in any queries.

I tried to sent you a message. Eaven with a valid email spcified in my account i wasn´t able to use the 'email this user' funktion. So I made a secound account and posted here. The information I wanted to chance was with the elite armor: the Cloth - Crimson Circle Armor gloves only give +26% manaregen. and not +27% as it is written in the wiki. I want to declare, that I´m no bot and never deleted any correct information or wrote any incorrect information. I only change 17 post in a rather long time. e.g.: I change the incorrect information, that huntsman is not useable by mages. A mage bards can take it. Mage, healer, rouge and fighter can take huntsman if the have the an allowed profession (e.g. bard, druid,...) and race (no dwarves). I hope you end the block on that account. If you do so I´ll delet the text i have written here and delet my secound account. Thank you very much.

The account "Chrisuf" has been unblocked. I apologize for the inconvenience. Happy editing! --Rewen 10:28, 16 April 2008 (EDT)
