There are a variety of weapons, armor, and items that can be found throughout the lands of Aerynth.But, there are some items that are rarely seen and some only heard of in legends such as the blade known as Shadowbane. Wonderous items, called Elite Sets, recently found through the world have been linked to three Lost Orders, unseen in Aerynth since before the Age of Kings: it has been many centuries since the names of the Vorgrim Legion, Crimson Circle, and the Cult of Bellugh Nauthal have even been spoken, much less their panoply seen upon the face of Aerynth. All factions were believed to have been destroyed long ago, but I fear the truth of the matter may be quite different.

Elite equipment are set of special armor and weapons with enchantments that may be slightly better than what players may create at their own vendors. Elite equipment may only be found on one mob on the server per piece once every 30 minutes and only has a eight percent (8%) chance to drop per kill (rate is unaffected by Hot Zones).

Patch 2.0 overhauled the available stats on Elite Equipment, and gave many set pieces chance drop with one of two different enchantments (look for the "(or)").
