Alchemy

Alchemy, referred to as potions or pots, was added to Shadowbane on April 19th, 2005 and later expanded on September 27th, 2006. The system introduced several consumable potions in the game that could be used to alleviate downtime for players. In it's expansion potions were added to reduce the Buff Bot Syndrome by giving the player buffs nearly as good as could be obtained through a bot. Due to the ease of these "buff pots" the amount of buff bots in the game has dramatically decreased.

You can hire your very own alchemist! Buy a contract on a rank 2 steward and put him to work in your local magic shop. You can order him to brew one of six potions -- three healing potions at rank 1, and three buff potions at rank 4. If you're cheap and lucky, you can also find potions on monster corpses.

Tips

• By placing multiple potions in your hot bar it is possible to have more than one potion activate at once. Simply press the hot keys to activate the potions simultaneously and both potions will apply at once. This will only work for potions of different types (ie. you cannot use two Sublimation of Garlic's at once).
