Recall

A Scroll of Recall, recall scroll, or just recall is an item in the Shadowbane world which when activated, will transport its caster to his bind point, (usually his Tree of Life). A Scroll of Recall is available at any Sage, and in three quantity options:

• A Scroll of Recall provides one charge. The item will vanish when used.
• Bundled Scrolls of Recall come as a pack of five recall charges. The item will vanish after five uses.
• A Tome of Recall is a book of twenty recall charges. The item will vanish after twenty uses.

Cast Warning

Since recalling is an efficient method of escape, the recall scroll will delay for seven seconds before the point at which you are transported, or no longer where you were before. During this delay, the user is encompassed by a bright, expanding, and very noticeable particle sphere to warn others of his action, so they might have a chance to react.

As a Power

All mage-based characters have access to a spell version of the recall scroll called Astral Tether at level twenty (prerequisite 60 Sorcery). When activated, Astral Tether will act in exactly the same way as a recall scroll. A character may only use this power once every five minutes. Wizards may use a power called Greater Astral Tether, which will recall all members of his group.

Techniques

Stealth Recall

Stealth recall is a technique used by anyone who has the hide power. With standard recalling, you are transported to your bind point without a safe mode, therefore you leave yourself open to ambush during the loading tunnel. Stealth recall is a method for avoiding this; to perform it, simply cast the hide power immediately following the activation of a recall scroll. This technique can also be used to avoid the cast warning. It is recommended that the user have highly-trained or grand mastered hide to perform this technique successfully.
