Victory or even survival often goes to the swiftest. Master of the chase, Kenaryn first taught the Elves and Centaurs how to quicken their pace through practice and careful exercise. With work, you can become as fleet as a falcon.

- Running skill description

Availability

Running is granted to Scouts and Thieves upon promotion to those classes.

The Numbers

Run speed is calculated by units per second. The base run speed for all characters is 13.97, except Centaurs, which have 16.94.

Run Speed Modifiers

Base run speed can be enhanced in a number of ways.

  • Windlords boots: 0.05 increase
  • Running skill: 0.25% increase per percentage point (e.g. 150% Running becomes 0.375, or equivalent to a 37.5% speed increase)
  • Run buffs: These short-duration buffs increase speed by a flat percentage (50% runbuff = 0.5)

Run Speed Formula

(Base Speed) * (1 + Speed Modifiers Total)

Example

A Human Thief with windlords boots, a 50% run speed buff, and 100% running skill.

Run Speed = (13.97) * (1 + .05 + .5 + .25) = 25.146

Therefore, this example character runs at 25.146, or 80% faster than the base run speed.

Run Speed Cap

The run speed cap is 41 units per second.
