Battlefield Alliances

The Battlefield Alliance System allows guild leadership to identify other nations as friend or foe. When you encounter members of a flagged nation, their names will be colored in green to show allies, and red for enemies. This helps with organization, but it has some practical applications as well.

How to Use

To add an entry to a guild's battlefield alliances list, a member of the guild must recommend the nation. This can be done a number of ways, the easiest is to bring up the context menu on a member of that nation and click on "Recommend As", as shown in the first screenshot. From there, guild Leadership can go to the guild options menu and bring up the allies/enemies Interface. Here you will see three tabs: allies, enemies, and recommendations, as shown in the third screenshot.

Going to the last tab, you will see a list of nations that have been recommended, who made the recommendation, and whether they should become an ally or an enemy. By selecting one of the nations from the list, guild Leadership can then use one of buttons on the bottom of the interface to tag that nation as an ally, enemy, or decline the recommendation and remove them from the list.

You will note in the fifth screenshot that the button for Make ally on the guild "The Face Cleavers" is not available. This is because on the loreplay servers, you can only ally yourself with members of the same charter-type. Members of your own charter type or others can be your enemies. This exception applies only to the Vindication Server.

Mechanics

Another thing to note is that entries on the battlefield alliances system are not reciprocal. If you deem one nation as your enemy, they do not automatically do the same.

Once guild leadership has labeled a nation as their ally or enemy, a message is sent on the nation channels of both the guild that made the entry and the nation that has just been tagged.

Finally, you will notice that members of tagged nations have the ally or enemy flag under their guild crest; this feature can be toggled on and off through the settings menu.

Also, the individual's name will be shaded red for enemy or green for ally. Note that the name color displayed in the selection window is not the color of their alliance status but still indicates the difference between your character level and that of the individual selected. This is shown in the sixth screenshot

Tips

  • To view a list of ally and enemy nations, as well as a list of recommended nations, use the new "battlefield alliances" option under your guild menu.
  • To add a nation as an ally or enemy, a guild member must target a character from the nation he or she'd like to add, and either type "/recommend", select "Recommend" from the target context window, or select "Recommend" from the guild menu.
  • The guild Leader and Inner Council members can accept or deny the recommendation from a Recommendations tab on the battlefield alliances Interface.
  • Once a nation is flagged as an ally or enemy, their status cannot be changed for at least another six (6) hours.
  • When a nation is added as either an ally or enemy, a message is sent to both the the guild Channel (who added them as an ally or enemy) and to the nation Channel for the nation that was just added to the list.
  • Adding a nation to the Battlefield Alliance list is not reciprocal; while guild A may have nation X as their enemy, nation X can label guild A as their ally.
  • When a nation is added to Battlefield Alliance list, their members will have a new designator under their name (either ally or enemy) and their name will be color coded in the game-world (red for enemy, Green for ally); this does not alter the color of their name in the Selection Window that identifies their threat level.
